Longview Glass continues to be a leader in the glass industry by continually updating our product lines and being innovative in the use of those products. We regularly attend industry trade shows and visit supplier and manufacturing plants. Our management team must have a thorough understanding of our products and services, but also understand our vendors ability to perform. Maximizing the strengths and capabilities of our vendors allows us to be more efficient and effective.
We recognize the need to stay current on product developments in our industry and to forge the relationships needed to incorporate those products in our daily activities. In this family glass business, dealer relationships began in 1952 when Mar-Tex Glass Co. became the local agent for Libby-Owens-Ford E-Z Eye tinted safety glass for automobiles.
In the following decades, glass coatings have been introduced to improve heat and sound insulation. Longview Glass has continued to follow the improvements in these coatings and made them available to their customers. The most recent development of Low Emissivity Coatings or “Low-E” Insulated Glass has properties that actually reflect thermal radiation and inhibit heat transfer.
With the recent trend in green building practices, which emphasize environmental improvement, as well as energy efficiency, even more exciting products are on the horizon and Longview Glass will follow those innovations and introduce them to East Texas.
Long term vendor relationships are critical to successful growth. The company is an exclusive dealer for Kawneer Company products in their region, as well as representing United States Aluminum, Columbia Building Products, Oldcastle, AGC, Arch Aluminum and Glass, Coral Architectural Products, Kalwall, Zark Aluminum, Cardinal, Alumax, M3 Technologies, Pilkington and Viracon. They also are the exclusive representative for Guardian Industries and their Showerguard product in the East Texas area.
